The most asked questions about cat cremations
Losing your best feline friend can be made worse by worrying about how they are going to be cremated. At Passing Paws, we want you to be able to celebrate your precious pet’s life and not let worry take over.
By answering some of your frequently asked questions, and putting your mind at ease, we hope to allow you to let go of the worry and focus on the wonderful life of your constant companion.
How long does it take to cremate a cat?
The cremation service you choose will give you an exact answer to this. If you are opting to have a Premium Same Day Service, this means their cremation service will be prioritised and their ashes returned back to you on the same day or at an agreed time. Our Standard Private Cremation takes 3-5 business days before you are reunited.
Deciding how to commemorate your feline friend’s life and legacy is never an easy one. Discussing your options with caring professionals like those at Passing Paws can make the decision and experience just a little easier though.

How do I know if I got all the pet remains from the cremation?
Many clients ask this question and wonder if they received all of their companion’s ashes back. Thanks to our DEFRA-approved crematorium and the high standard of care and quality we practice, you are guaranteed to receive all of the ashes from your pet back, not just some. You are also able to be present during your pet’s cremation should you wish to be and can view the cremation taking place via our CCTV system.
We offer additional services to enable you to go through the cat cremation process with support and kindness at every point, namely:
- Pet memorabilia – personalised, carefully crafted urns and other keepsakes are available to buy in order to remember your pet fondly for years to come.
- Grief counselling – a service for the whole family, including children, to enable you to come to terms with the passing of your favourite feline.
